Kek Loh Si Temple

Kek Loh Si Temple is a historical and traditional Buddhist temple situated in Penang Air Item.  Is a large and big temple build on a small hill.  In Chinese it call "极乐寺" and people in Penang name the temple as "Temple of Supreme Bliss".

 

Incorporating the architectural style of Chinese, Thai and Burmese, Kek Lok Si Temple which was constructed in 1893, is possibly one of the biggest, finest Buddhist temple in South East Asia.  The temple also features gardens, a turtle pond, shrines and beautiful sculptures. 

 

Kek Lok Si Temple consists of a few large halls for prayer and assembly. Various pagoda statues of Buddha, attractive Bodhiosattvas and Chinese gods are being placed.  Intricate woodwork and architecture with well maintain of painting, various size of lanterns with lighting adding visual impression to the temple.  Delightful music of Buddhist songs  make the environment friendly and calm of mind.

 

 

The Kek Lok Si Temple glitters in rainbow colours at dusk as it switches on its red and yellow lanterns and many decorative bulbs for the festive season
